Summer Reading List

It’s summertime!

Hopefully you will be able to spend some time in a lounge chair relaxing with a beverage and book. Or maybe, you’ll do it with audible.com and a road trip! Either way, often with summer comes summer reading lists, so I thought I’d share some recommendations for personal finance books that might make you smarter and more empowered to invest in your own future financial security.

Psychology of Money: Timeless Lessons on Wealth Greed and Happiness by Morgan Housel – an easy to read book with great stories that explain the concepts

Corner Office Choices: The Executive Woman’s Guide to Financial Freedom by Bridget Venus Grimes – Bridget is a friend and a mentor who has found much success as a leader in the industry

The Mindful Money Mentality by Holly Thomas (now Donaldson) – Holly is a dear friend and a mentor who has been so gracious and wise

Women Wise: The Essential Guide to Financial and Lifestyle Decisions as We Age by Marjorie L. Fox, CFP and Elenor Blayney, CFP – Two exceptional financial planners who collaborated for a great read

A Healthy State of Panic: Follow Your Fears to Build Wealth, Crush Your Career and Win at Life by Farnoosh Torabi – I love her podcast, So Money®

A Women’s Guide to Successful Investing: Achieving Financial Security and Realizing Your Goals by Nancy Tengler – Smart woman at the top of her game

Moving Forward on Your Own: A Financial Guidebook for Widows by Kathleen M. Rehl PhD, CFP – This is my go-to gift for new widows

Coin: The Irreverent Yet Practical Guide to Money Management for Recent College Graduates by Judy McNary, CFP – This is my go-to gift for college grads

The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham – Classic book on value investing and financial literacy.

All of these books are available on amazon.com. Someday I hope to write my own book to share insights and best practices for achieving your goals and finding future financial security through humor and an easy to read dialogue. Until then, I hope you’ll let me know if these recommendations resonated with you. As a BONUS, I’m including the downloadable book, Finances For My Daughter by Bob Veres, for the young adults in your life.
